Top Ten Things to Do in the SPRING in Sacramento
March 29th, 2010
Spring is finally here! Our area has so much to offer this time of the year. Here are just a handlful of my favorites:
1. Plant a Garden
Early spring is the ideal time to start planting! Get the whole family involved and start a vegetable garden or beautify your yard.
Not sure where to start? Take a FREE class at Bushnell Gardens on Douglas in Granite Bay. Their classes change monthly, so call 916-791-0756 for a list of upcoming classes.

State Homebuyer Tax Credits On the Horizon
March 24th, 2010
Good news for California homebuyers! New homebuyer tax credits are on the horizon! May 1st, one day after the expiration of the federal $8,000 first-time home buyer tax credit, Californians can begin claiming $10,000 in state tax credits.
The bill, AB 183, was first proposed by Governor Schwarzenegger in his State of the State Address in January and was easily passed by both houses of the legislature. Yesterday a spokesman from the Governor’s office assured that the governor still supports the bill and will sign it into law.
Years after Homeowners Default, Debt Collectors May Still Come Calling!
March 19th, 2010
I ran across an article in the Sacramento Bee on Wednesday entitled “Years After Homeowners Default, Collectors May Still Come After Them.” Needless to say, it caught my attention…and I wanted to bring it to yours.
It talks about the fact that many homeowners who are currently defaulting on their mortgages, may be surprised to learn that, years from now, they may still owe that money to someone…the debt collectors may come calling!
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
March 17th, 2010
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved any excuse to get dressed up; not in a Halloweeny, costumy, pretend-to-be-someone-else way, but in a fancy, over-the-top, sparkly way! St. Patrick’s Day is, therefore, one of my favorite days of the year. Needless to say, I’m dressed in green today…complete w/ my favorite Kate Spade iridescent green pumps and a button on my purse that reads “Queen O’ the Green!” No, I’m not Irish…I just pretend to be once a year!
Times They Are a Changin’…So Are Refrigerants!
March 11th, 2010
I do my best to stay on top of all of the legislative changes within my industry, but there are seriously so many of them! Thankfully, I have a team of people around me, professionals in their fields, who keep me informed. Jessica Mraz, from Fidelity National Home Warranty (FNHW), just stopped by my office and informed me that as of January 1, HVAC system manufacturers no longer produce air conditioners and heat pumps containing R-22, commonly known as Freon (Title VI of the Clean Air Act).
